About the Role
We are seeking a Tenancy Credit Controller to play a key role in supporting the financial operations of the property management portfolio. Reporting to the Client Accounting Manager, this role is responsible for monitoring tenant accounts, ensuring timely collection of rent and service charges, and managing tenant arrears in line with company policies and procedures.
The successful candidate will work closely with property managers, tenants, and the wider finance team to resolve account queries, maintain accurate financial records, and ensure efficient credit control processes.

37.5 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
• Monitor tenant accounts to ensure timely payment of rent, parking, service charges, and other related fees
• Issue invoices, statements, and arrears letters in line with company procedures
• Proactively follow up overdue payments via phone, email, and written correspondence
• Conduct regular tenant account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Work closely with property managers to resolve tenant queries and disputes
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all credit control activity
• Prepare reports on arrears, payment trends, and account status for management review
• Escalate persistent arrears cases in line with internal policies and recommend legal action where appropriate
• Prepare pre-legal documentation (S8/S21 notices) and refer cases to legal partners where necessary
• Monitor failed Direct Debit reports and proactively contact tenants to arrange payment
• Support the Accounts Receivable team with reviewing unsettled cash receipts
• Contribute to continuous improvement of credit control processes and system
About You
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual with strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to managing accounts and resolving payment issues. You will be confident communicating with both internal teams and external tenants while maintaining a solutions-focused approach.
Essential
• Previous experience in an accounts receivable or finance admin role
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good working knowledge of accounting software (e.g., Coins, MRI-Qube, Yardi)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Desirable
• Experience in property management or real estate sector
• Familiarity with service charge accounting or leasehold management
• CICM qualification or working towards one (or QBE)
